All State Van Lines - Moving Service Review from Seminole, Florida
This moving company should be put out of business. They over charged us by 3x the amount that was initially signed/agreed upon and refused to give us our belongings once at destination. Cops were involved (see Photo for proof). We also had close To 5k in damaged belongings which we have yet to see a penny from. Please please pick another company to move you. We are being advised to sue company.

Would not use All State Van Lines. Zachary Velez either has no idea what he is doing or the company instructs him and others to reduce over all weight to get the commitment.

Zachary instructed me that he was reducing the weight estimate based off of my inventory (even after I added what he recorded) and the other companies cubic footage. He assured me that he will be very close to the weight. My fault for not having it in the contract. The movers arrived unprepared due to Zachary Velez's under estimate, they were not happy but did a good job anyway.

I asked Zachary several times for an in home estimate only to be told that those guys just over estimate and collect a commission. Overall it is my own fault for using this company when I did not have a good feeling about it.

If the quoted pricing was inline with what I am now paying, I would have used a totally different company. The weight came in over 2,000 lbs heavier than Zachary's quote.

We hired this company to move my daughter. For two consecutive days they did not show up as promised to pack and load her things. No one will return our phone calls or emails. Be warned- this company is not legitimate. They take your money and never deliver on their services. We will be filing a formal complaint. This company charged us and never showed up! Liars cheaters - total fraud. Do not ever use this company. They will talk a good game, steal your money, but will not provide any services. They are crooked as the road is long. It's time someone forced them out of business for good.

After 2 and a half months of holding our deposit, this company cancelled our move and will give us no explanation as to why. We are three weeks always from our move date and have already sold our house. We can't find another mover for reasonable cost. Their Visual Inspection team was both rude and unprofessional and refused to call us by phone to set an inspection time. They were also reluctant to travel any distance from their office. Do Not use this company.

DO NOT EVER, EVER USE ALL STATE VAN LINES!!!!! They start off with all the nice stuff and act like they care and no matter what you ask, they say they will provide. I asked about the glass in my china hutch if it would be removed and wrapped and of course they said oh yes. They needed to know exactly the size and how many mattress so they could provide boxes. They were No boxes and they still charged us for them. They wrapped a blanket around some of the mattress. 2 guys showed up 2 days late at 6:30 pm to move us. Long story short, they took until they next night at ( pm to compete loading. All state sent a guy to get an exact weight. He was so far off, the stuff from our house would not fit so we had to rent our own truck to transport the rest and our cars and van from Nashville to stuart fl. they came 6 days later and would not unload until we paid 2200.00 cash. The truck leaked everywhere , boxes were soaked things molded, my china hutch was water damaged with 2 broken pieces of glass, mattresses were wet, we are missing all my cast iron pots thaat were given to me from my mother, and on and on. We paid$$$ 5000.00 for a 26 foot truck and 2 guys with ONE old dolly and i had to go buy tape for them the blankets were cheap old u haul blankets. DO NOT USE them

Not a moving company

My mistake was not even knowing what a moving broker is. I had only dealt with actual moving companies and have had wonderful experiences. Allstate is a moving BROKER. That means that they hire someone else to actually do the move. I have no idea what exactly Allstate is getting paid for. So, when the guys from WHO THE HECK KNOWS moving company show up to collect your stuff (my guys were in a rental Enterprise truck) Allstate has now completely lost control of the situation. They have no authority or control over the guys they have hired to do your move. So, when your stuff gets lost, stolen, and/or damaged there is NOTHING they can do about it. You really need to look at each of your items and ask yourself "How much does this weight? Can I replace it at $.60/lb of what it weights?" That is exactly what you are going to be doing.

Lost irreplaceable items, never found them, they just....vanished!. Delivered a box of mens diamond jewelry that belonged to someone in Michigan that I tracked down to return to him. Offered $120 in damages and for lost items. One painting they lost is $125 to replace without the frame. Do not ever, EVER use this company. Customer service is non existent.you've been warned.

They will NOT work with you. DO NOT USE ThIS COMPANY!!!! They could care less about you as a customer. They doubled my balance because I was one box over.

The company has a U.S investigation against their owner. Let's get together to put these people out of business and in jail.

Now I have to hustle and find an ethical moving company. How terrible do these kind of things to people in such a vulnerable time. Shame on you All state Van lines.

I'm a very positive person and I hate to complain, however, I have to warn you not to use this company. Here are the reasons why: 1. Delivery quotes/pricing on the phone are not upheld. Further, no justification other than a visual inspection is provided. 2. Delivery times are merely a suggestion. The mover were no four hours late. There was no management available for questions or concerns for weekend moves. 3.The company missed the original scheduled delivery. There was confusion between staffers about the delivery date. 4. The company sent a Uhaul truck and two guys. I could have done that myself. 5. I still don't have my belongings and I had to rent another storage unit because my original unit is no longer available. The company won't provide a definite delivery date. Professionalism was also a challenge. I've moved 6-7 times within 10 years and this company is the worst mover that I've encountered...ever.

Nightmare Move

I moved from Indiana to SC and this was the worst move ever, All State sub-contracted to US Van Lines LLC, they pack stuff that didn't need to be package charging me an extra $1,100 dollars, they left oil in the driveway and dug up the driveway with the tailgate lift, ran over my mailbox, had to have the carpets cleaned, damaged my furniture, I would not hire them to move anything ever again. If I could give them less than 1 star I would have. Next phase I was sent a letter to sign offering me $200 dollars but I couldn't say anything negative about All State. When they called me I told them to keep the $200 and I would not agree to sign anything with them. Next Phase is damages I sent in the claim for damages but haven't heard anything yet. Its been 45 days since I filed the claim and 6 e-mails later and I haven't yet to get a reply. Now it been 2-1/2 months and All state has yet contacted me on my issues and freight claim I have sent 9 e-mails to Tequela Little, Samatha Rivera, and Thomas Lee and have not received a response. Just received a response on my claim today it cost me $400 to settle on the sales of my house due to carpet cleaning, damages to woodwork, mailbox replacement. Freight damage to my cherry wood desk and curio cabinet which are not replaceable, I paid over $1000 dollars for them the weight was 600# and insurance was .60 per lb. Which you think would be $360 dollars they offered me $52 dollars and 50 cents. I sent it back to them asking them if this was a joke.

I paid a deposit for them to do my move. 3 days before the move, they wanted more money before having completed service. Refusing to return deposit.

May 15 - Received a moving estimate from representative Danny Steiner at All State in amount of $3230.87. Told that this estimate is binding. May 19 - Paid All State deposit (done on credit card) in amount of $1672.01. Assured that deposit is 100% refundable by Mr. Steiner provided that job is cancelled more than 5 days out. At same time I was informed that the remaining $1558.86 was to be paid upon delivery in the form of a cashier's check or credit card. Mr. Steiner went on to say that I could save 3% if I paid by cashier's check rather than credit card. June 8 - phoned and emailed Mr. Steiner to find out what day my furniture would be picked up. Never received a response. June 9 - received a phone call from representative Christopher Burnham to go over details of move. I asked to know my pickup day. Mr. Burnham claimed that that wasn't his department but did inform me that he had re-evaluated my estimate and determined that I owed an additional $300 towards the deposit. I expressed surprise as this was not expected based on my conversation with Mr. Steiner. Mr. Burnham did not respond to this except to repeat his demand for further payment. I told Mr. Burnham I would return his call later that day as I didn't have my credit card. Mr. Burnham proceeded to call me repeatedly throughout the rest of that day and the next until my husband spoke to him. June 11 - Received a phone call from representative Nathalie Lantigua. Ms. Lantigua finally gave me the move date as June 13th. Ms. Lantigua confirmed that I had paid a deposit and that the remaining $1558.86 was to be paid to the driver upon delivery in the form of a cashier's check or credit card. Unlike Mr. Steiner, however, Ms. Lantigua informed me that if I chose to use a credit card, I would have to pay a 3% fee, which is very different than Mr. Steiner's claim that I would save 3%. I expressed my confusion to Ms. Lantigua, and she verified that what Mr. Steiner had said was wrong. June 12 - I received a phone call from Dennis Patlak (representative of Quality Relocation, contracted by All State) confirming my move date of the 13th. At this time, Mr. Patlak informed me that upon arrival at my residence, I would have to pay the driver $775 (half the balance owed) and this payment was preferred in the form of a credit card. This is the first time I was told by anyone that the balance would be split into two payments. It was also conflicting information on method of payment. Mr. Patlak stated that it was easier for his driver to take a credit card rather than deal with the hassle of a certified check, so they were waiving the credit card fee. I told Mr. Patlak that I would happily pay by credit card provided I received this request in writing, promising that I would not be charged a 3% fee. Mr. Patlak emailed his request. I then asked Mr. Patlak if this fee waiver also applied to the last $775 due on delivery. At this time, Mr. Patlak sent an email saying never mind, full payment would simply be taken upon delivery, no need to pay the $775 when the driver arrives for pickup. At this point, I called Ms. Lantigua to express frustration with All State and ask for a different moving company as I did not trust Mr. Patlak's company with my move. Ms. Lantigua simply stated that there was nothing she could do at this point and otherwise did not acknowledge the problems I was having with All State and their associates. 2 hours after this exchange, I informed All State that I was canceling my move as a result of their continued attempts to get extra money and overall shady business practices and asked for my deposit returned. All State refused. I have NEVER experienced such a horrible move. It is my hope that other consumers will do their homework and read my review, thereby avoiding all the hassle that I had to endure at the hands of these *** artists.

TERRIBLE COMPANY TO USE!

I had a move from california to virginia on December 7th. I was lied to by the representative who told me they werent a broker when i clearly asked him. i found out later that they are in fact a broker. I was told a truck would arrive at my house on a tuesday at 4pm.....the movers never arrived until Wednesday at 8pm. I yelled at the driver of the truck for spitting on my walkway. I only moved around 1900 lbs worth of items but they broke a large mirror, one of my 42 inch flatscreen TVs and refused to compensate me. I had to call the representative and leave several messages and finally, after 15 calls, i get a call from a man claiming to be a manager. his voiced sounded raspy almost like he was trying to deepen his voice on the phone with me. He told me the company wouldnt compensate me unless i could prove that they broke my TV. i then sent him pictures of the TV before it was packed and after it was packed and he still refused to compensate me stating that i "needed to have photographic or video evidence of a mover breaking it". this company is just terrible!!!! All State really screwed up my move. I was originally scheduled for a pickup on Sep 14th or 15th. The Friday before my moving coordinator called and said she wasn't sure which day it was going to be, but that the driver would call if it was going to be Monday the 14th because All State has no one in the office on the weekends. No call from the driver on the weekend. On Monday I was told it would be Tuesday the 15th, but they didn't have a time yet. In Tuesday someone else from All State called, asking if they could extend the pickup window until the 18th, which was Friday. I said ok, because my apartment lease ran through the 20th and I wasn't sure I would be able to find anyone on such short notice. On Wednesday the 16th, my moving coordinator said the driver would be there late Thursday. On Thursday the driver called and said he would be there Friday the 18th between 9am-5pm. I was ok with that, figured now I have spoken with the driver and we were set. Friday comes, I wake up early enough to be ready to go at the start of the 9am-5pm window. Short story, the driver never showed up. I finally received a call from the carriers dispatch asking if I had seen the driver, to which I replied no, she said there was a mechanical issue with the truck and they would not be able to complete the move. I immediately called All State, my moving coordinator didn't answer so I talked with someone else in customer care. She said she would work on it and call me back in an hour. Well after 90 minutes she had not called, so I called All State back and they were closed. At this point I was panicking and upset. I wondered how I would find a new moving company on a weekend. I also felt taken advantage of and annoyed that despite me leaving ample time for delays I was still scrambling at the last minute. Saturday the 19th, I called customer care right when they opened, and my call went to voicemail. I tried again 15 minutes later and my call would *** for a few minutes and then go to voicemail. I called the sales department and there someone answered almost immediately. She transferred me to someone in customer care, who then transferred me to a supervisor. The supervisor told me it would be Tuesday or maybe Wednesday the following week before they could have a truck there. She also told me I could cancel and receive a full refund of my deposit if I wanted. I scrambled around on a Saturday trying to find anyone to complete the move. Thankfully I was able to find another company. I called All State back and had to leave a voicemail requesting cancellation, but they did call me back within a few hours or confirm it. I'll see if they actually refund my card like they said they will. Overall, the employees were all pleasant once you could reach them. The communication sucked big time though and the only reason I had any idea of what was going on was because I kept calling. I think once my move went to *** they should've been on top of things and at least calling to tell me what the plan for recovery was. Instead they don't even have a 24 hour phone number. In the end I would not use All State again or recommend them. They should take a hard look at their internal processes and find a way to keep customers up to date during service failures.
